discussion questions

  1. What stood out to you most in the Scripture or from Joel’s or Joseph’s sermon?

  2. What are some reasons you can think of for why the Transfiguration matters? What bearing does Jesus’ glory have on our lives?

  3. In his sermon, Joel mentioned that “we become like whatever we behold.” What are some of the things you most frequently look to or “behold” throughout your week?

  4. What might it look like for you to more frequently and fully behold Jesus and
    his glory?

  5. In Mark 9:7, God tells the disciples, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.”
What are the top voices you're inclined to “listen to” in your life (e.g. friends, parents, your heart,  podcasts, etc.)? How might they help or hinder you in listening to Jesus?

  6. Are there any ways in which listening to and obeying Jesus is particularly hard for you right now? Why?

  7. Read Revelation 19:6-8. How does the Transfiguration grow your understanding of what it means that we will be clothed with Christ’s righteousness in eternity?
